I couldn't find any bedding or decor that I liked, so I decided to break the sewing machine that I got for Christmas 2010 out of the box.

Also DIY'd paint (walls, trim & doors), wainscoting and new knobs/hinges on 3 doors.

I made the dust ruffle and 3 sides of crib rail cover. The dust ruffle I just eyeballed, it was very easy. Tutorial on the crib rail cover
from here - with modifications based on the comments. Decal from
here.

In this pic, I made the curtains and the basket liners. The curtains I just turned right-sides-together,
tutorial on the basket liners here - very easy and no geometry unlike many other tutorials! The yellow frames at the right are batik silks that hung in my nursery when I was a baby.

The wall-mounted frame will hold
this print once the new baby is here and we've finalized a name. The bunny is from DH's nursery when he was little.

Forgive the ugly but amazingly comfortable recliner - when DS1 was born we thought it was a better investment to get a chair that could end up in the "man room" rather than a glider used in the short-term.

Close-up of corner. The large art is a 500-piece puzzle that my dad and I did together when I was 5 and Halley's Comet came close to the earth. The frame was dark wood and I painted it white. Super-cute ABC artwork found
here.

I love this nursery! I especially like the curtains - what a great fabric! Congrats on adding to your family.
Behr (Home Depot) in Anonymous. At first I thought I wanted to go darker, but it came out perfectly.
FYI for others, here is the fabric I used for the curtains & accent on the crib rail cover. You can't see it in the pics, but the curtains are lined, also sourced through Hancock Fabrics.

Looks great! I love that you've added a few things from each of you and your DH as you were growing up as well! What a great idea!
Looks really great! You are inspiring me to get my sewing machine fixed!
Question about the chair. I agree that they are pretty ugly, but so comfy! Did you nurse? I always wondered if it would work (especially for small breasted moms) to nurse in a recliner. I ways felt like I needed to be sitting pretty straight up. My ILs have one they want to give us, but I am not sure it could work for nursing.

We have a huge ugly recliner too. I think they are so much more comfy than gliders, and on more than 1 occasion, when they had stuffy noses as babies, I slept in the recliner all night holding them upright
I had planned to have it go to the family room, but our kids love having the recliner ni their room to sit and read in!
Looks amazing!
It's nice to see you made the dust ruffle. My sil has asked me to make hers.
Cute! Great job!!!
I was a C pre-baby and a D while nursing. I nursed fine in the recliner, with a boppy. It was actually easier in the recliner, bc jamming the boppy between the 2 armrests of the recliner made it stick up a bit more, which helped get DS's head up to my boob.
