I bought a mini-trampoline for exercise on days that I don't run. You have to hold your abs in tight when jumping up and down on it. I used it for an hour on Saturday. My abs and obliques hurt SO BAD. SO BAD.

Belts are awesome. I never really wore one before but yeah awesome.

THIS spanx slip is super duper awesome.

In two weeks we're going to Park City for Mr. Mod's birthday. We're really excited and planning on participating in the Red Bull Schlittentag.

Re: Randoms

  • Oh AND my work computer seems to have had a stroke and has me as one of my AEs.
  • Oh yeah, well I bought  plane ticket to Mars for Mr. Winged's birthday and he's actually going to turn into a red bull, soo.....

Seriously, I am in constant jealousy of your jetsetter lifestyle.

  • I do feel very very very spoiled and fortunate to be able to travel like we do.
  • Yeah, we feel that way too. Obviously children has changed that somewhat but I love love love traveling.
  • I am reading Fifty Shades of Grey and I loathe it.  If I hadn't promised a friend I'd read it so we can discuss it, I'd chuck it.

I made corned beef hash with our leftovers last night, and I'm really excited to have hash and poached eggs for dinner tonight.  I trying to decide whether or not to put some beets in there to make them red flannel hash.

The lovely weather we're having makes me crave Grey Goose and tonic.

Fran is in Florida all week, so it will be six days of hearing "Mommy Mommy Mommy Mommy Mommy Mommy" virtually non-stop.

  • Kay, I'm reading 50 shades as well (also because I told a friend I would), and it's horrible. It makes twilight look well written.

  • I've eaten crap all last week because I was too sick to cook or go grocery shopping, but when I stepped on the scale this morning I've lost half a pound.  This is only going to reinforce my bad behavior, even though deep down I know it's just a fluke.

Mr. Spiderman's grandpa passed away yesterday, so he's pretty depressed about it.  But part of the way his depression is manifesting is for him to be so forlorn over the renovation project he's working on in our house.  It's hard not to roll my eyes when he's lamenting the fact that Lowe's doesn't have the right size/color light switch options for what we need and OMG OUR HOUSE IS PROBABLY GOING TO BURN DOWN FROM FAULTY WIRING AND IS FILLED WITH ASBESTOS.  He gets melodramatic when he's upset.  I love him and I know he's just upset about his grandpa, so I will only mock him here and not to his face....the way a good wife would.

I saw Wicked on Saturday and it was amazing.  The girl who played Glinda was hilariously awesome and probably as close to Kristen Chenowith as you can get.

  • I am SO flipping tired today, I cannot get myself to buck up. I relaxed a bunch this weekend, went to bed at a half decent time last night, and still, I am dragging my butt around. Bah.

I got some adorable alphabet cookie cutters on Friday that  I need to try out, but I have nothing to make cookies for.

  • i went spelunking in my purse through a rip in the lining and found two lip glosses and enough spare change to buy a bag of chex mix from the vending machine. digging around in there was like exploring a tear in the space/time continuum.

does this mean i need to get a new purse? hahaha.

  • I'm pretty sure "I just got cute new cookie cutters" is a perfectly good reason to bake cookies.

I made hash and poached eggs for breakfast yesterday and it was so good I'm considering buying another corned brisket. Bonus, I'm sure they're on sale.

  • Allie is just starting to smile and laugh. This morning I laughed at a face she made, and then she gave me the biggest smile ever. This is the first time she's actually interacted, and I'm enthralled.

I'm using the fact that the AC repair guys are here as an excuse not to do anything. It's a bad excuse. They're working all outside and in the crawl space today, and even if I don't want to leave the house, there are about a million things here that I should be doing.

I really need Cadbury Mini Eggs, but Safeway only sells the dark chocolate kind (yuck!) and CVS doesn't have them at all. What's the point of living within walking distance of those stores if they don't have what I need?

Yes, that is a perfectly good reason. What are they?

I just worked out for the first time in five days. I had a head cold that involved massive amounts of mucous. Anyway, I'm so sweaty and winded.

I was up until three last night with the file from hell. At one point they played music and tried to do the interview over the music and I had to relisten to everything over and over again. I almost started crying.

     I want a nap.

Having Lorne's schedule and knowing there's just a little more than a year left is weird and scary and exciting. Lorne was all, "Hey, we could buy a house in a few years," and I was all, "WHAT?!" I don't feel grown up enough to have a house. I guess the "feeling grown up" ship sailed when we had kids though.

  • True.. having the cutters is a good enough excuse, but I can't be eating a bunch of cookies on my own. I need to get back on the health train, bad.

It's these Fred cookie cutters - you cut out the shape with one side, and then use the other side to stamp the letter in. I love them so much.

ETA: and they come with an exclamation point and an ampersand!

ETA # 2: Sorry you're having a crap time Noisy. :( Want some alphabet cookies?

  • Those are cool! You could make them and bring them to co-workers maybe?

We're going on vacation next week so I can't complain too much. SPRING BREAK IN IDAHO!!!

  • What great baby shower cookies.
  • We have a group of six young male (age 23ish) engineers here. There are four that I call the Brat Pack because they're giant brats and ALWAYS together, I swear I've never seen one of them on his own ever in the 6 months he has been here. Anyway, the two that are the worst offenders showed up today with identical haircuts (close cut with a miniature faux hawk thing going on). I feel like it's the StepfordEngineers or something.
