For a friend: green/Irish b-party?
A friend of mine asked me for ideas and this isn't my strong suit, so I thought maybe you girls would have ideas.
My friend is hosting a b-party next Friday. Because the bride's getting married in Ireland to an Irishman, the hostess thought to make it green-themed. The b-party is just going to be hors d'oeuvres at the house, then out for drinks. Any ideas for food, decor, accessories?
My b-party was just drinks out with no theme at all, and you know I'm not a theme person anyways, so I'm not sure what to tell her.
Re: For a friend: green/Irish b-party?
Maybe suggest that they go Irish themed rather than green?
The upside is that, if they wanted green decor, there should be a lot on sale right now.

THIS. Plus she can do green and Irish... I just made a "Shepherd's Pie" for our "Irish Day" that turned out really well. I froze an extra one - but of course didn't reheat it yet: http://www.food.com/recipe/traditional-irish-shepherds-pie-302120
I also sometimes make "Corned Beef and Cabbage" which I boil in beer all day and then add the vegetables to. Can give you the "family recipe" if you like. I'm only part Irish though.... and haven't made Guiness Cupcakes or any of these other recipes you see floating around - but I'm sure they're great. Other dessert ideas I've seen have been one of those "Rainbow" cakes - with a pot of "Gold" (think Hannukah Gelt - but for St. Pat's) displayed next to it... and of course would serve Irish Beer, Whiskey (Jameson's) and - if it were my party - a "Green Cosmo" of some sort...
HTH and GL with your "Fiesta" - can hardly wait to see the photos.
