April Fools!

Hi Nesties,

We're looking to roundup the best (or worst!) April Fools pranks that you have pulled on someone (or that someone else has pulled on you!). Got any stories to share? Wink

  • When I was a kid I told my sister she was adopted, I had her going until April 2nd!  bahahah!  Mom was not impressed.

  • My husband (then boyfriend) and I were the token couple in college. We'd already been together four years by my junior year, and on April Fool's we "broke up" on Facebook by switching our relationship status to single. We didn't talk to anyone, just changed it on Facebook, and within a half hour I was getting phone calls from friends asking if I was okay. We kept it going until the next day, and by then I'd been asked so many times what happened. I just kept my mouth shut, and to this day our friends still try and pull the same prank! It just doesn't wok though :)
  • I have two faves:
    1) When I worked in a church's front office, I stuck a sign on the door that said "Please use other door." There wasn't one...that was the only entrance! It cracked me up all day to watch people search the building to find that elusive other entrance, even people who had worked there for years, haha!

    2) When I was a kid, I walked into my dad's room holding a towel and a bottle of bleach. I said "Hey Dad, guess what? I decided to try to get extra allowance, so I cleaned the inside of your truck for you! It got really white...." Of course I hadn't really bleached it, but the look on his face as he bolted out the door to check his precious truck was priceless!

  • When I was in college, I studied music. Our professor gave all of us who were in his studio a key to his office so that we could use his recording equipment. It was tradition to prank him every April fools, but my sophomore year was the best. All of us pitched in to buy rolls and rolls of tin foil. We visited his office late at night and spent a good 2 hours wrapping everything in aluminium foil! Floor, walls, computer, trash can, even the grand piano! Needless to say, we couldn't have our lessons in there without everything rattling. But the tin foil was recycled... for tin hats :)
  • Not me, but the office manager at my job sent out a memo on April 1st telling everyone that strict adherence to the dress code was expected or they would be sent home, commenting on some of the outfits, and saying the memo was from her boss (a VP).  People were so p*ssed off and insulted about having to wear panty hose etc.

Another time she made cookies.  They looked like peanut butter, but they tasted like hot pepper.  And I think she made some that were ok, and some that weren't, so the people who were "in" would choose the cookies that were delicious and eat them with no problem and others would get "burned."

  • I made fortune cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkles to bring to work. Instead of normal fortunes, I put "rude" ones (nothing super offensive, just "Did your mother dress you today?!" type ones and totally silly ones ("Watch out for runaway llamas on your drive home!").
