DH's nephew is graduating HS in May. We really want to give him a trip abroad, but we're not really sure how to go about it. He's emancipated so getting his parents help isn't an option. We know he'd feel more comfortable as part of a group so what do we do just give him the GAP adventures catalog and say pick a trip?

Re: Help on gifting travel.
That sounds really awesome of you guys!
I think that the GAP or Contiki catalogues would be a great idea.
Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!

How awesome!
I don't know what the GAP is but I did a similar thing every summer during HS. My parents would get me catalogues from popular organizations and I would pick. I think back then EF Educational Tours was very popular.
eta - Looked up EF, it was them. My first trip to the UK was with them, best summer of my life.
This is a great idea! Gap does have catalogs. I'll look into the other companies mentioned too.
Stellina - How awesome that your parents gave you a trip every summer.
Yep, I am so grateful! They could tell I was fond of foreign languages and did their best to make sure I cultivated them. They were secretly hoping I would become a translator
A friend did a lot of trips through Intrepid Travel when she was younger and raves about them. But I think Contiki is the go-to for the younger groups and would probably be more fun.
What a fabulous gift!
