Jessica Simpson is why I can never have children

We are the same height.  I fear I'd look even more ridiculous than this if I were to ever spawn.

Miguel/Goodwin/FameFlynet Pictures

Blah blah pregnant women are beautiful blah blah...I am 100% certain that she could've worn something more flattering and comfortable than this dress.  Her body looks like it's trying to eat her head (to paraphrase someone on ML).

Also, she apparently plans to name her daughter Maxwell.  "Is this a girl's name what I'm naming her, or is it a boy's name?"

  • That dress would be awful on anyone.  Yikes.

    When is she due?

  • She still has a month to go???

She hasn't been specific about her due date, but the article accompanying this photo says she has a few more weeks.  She was showing so much already in October when she announced.  If she delivers in April, then she was only 3 months pregnant in October, and speculation had been going around for weeks before THAT.

  • This girl needs a style intervention. Now.

She's got the worst taste and eye for fashion that I've ever seen. Ever.

  • I think she's fallen to that "I'm rich and famous and can pay people to make me look good, so clearly, I must look good" mindset.

Due date is April 20th. So, yes, one month to go.

  • Maybe she's having multiples but isn't revealing that until after the birth?

I don't think she looks gross or monstrous or whatever, but it wouldn't shock me if she's carrying more than one. Anyone here with multiples want to weigh in?

  • that dress is hideous. It'd be hideous no matter what - pregnant, not pregnant.

  • Dumb question from someone who's never been pregnant. She's saying that she's gained 60+ lbs so far this pregnancy (and again, she's due on April 20th). Is that a "normal" amount of weight to gain? Or is it excessive weight gain, coupled with her tiny frame, that's making her look this big already?

she is that big sug. at 4 months preg, she looked 8. there is a post on ml of her in a red dress in nov and she was huge then.

Honestly, she doesn't look 40 weeks to me - 36 weeks sounds appropriate. But I'm gauging her against what I and other moms looked like who got real huge. I actually think I have a 36 week pic here somewheres...

    I like her shoe line!

  • Tinfoil hat. I think she's putting on an act for press coverage. She's gained 60 pounds, made the talk show circuit talking about her affinity for poptarts and twinkies, and worn nothing but totally unflattering clothing for months. Its good PR. Particularly for her Weight Watchers contract, which begins post-baby.

With one month to go that's a pretty big weight gain, IMO.  I remember back when Kate Hudson had her first and she said she gained 70 lbs. She was a stick figure before that so I'm not surprised she gained that much weight.

While a pre preg JS is probably smaller then the average woman, she certainly wasn't really really skinny. I think she's just short and so the weight has less places to go.

For me it's not as much about the weight as her horrid fashion choices.

It's a lot of weight to gain, especially on her frame, but it's not an unheard of amount. Her biggest issue is how she dresses and wears her hair. She has gained weight in her face, and leaving her hair down makes it look so much worse.

  • It's her fashion choices that make her look awful.  I agree with pp, I bet you she really isn't that big.

I don't know how to define normal. I have found through observation that first pregnancies and smaller frames tend to gain a bit more in general. She falls into both of these categories.

A doctor will tell you to gain around 25-35 lbs.

It probably is more than normal but I know some very healthy woman who have put on that much poundage. I also bet she is having a field day with her eating since she has the WW deal. They probably want her nice and plump so she can be all "I lost 60 lbs with WW." She is probably embracing this time in her life I would guess.

I've heard this as well. I've also heard that she'll have cosmetic surgery to get back into "shape."

  • I gained 60 with both of the kids.  My blood pressure was always low (in fact many times I had to stay and eat saltines so they could check it again) my blood sugar completely normal and my doctor never said a word.  He never even mentioned the horrendous outfits I chose in the end for comfort.

  • She looks fine, and is a very pretty girl.  That dress is horrific.  I understand it was chilly there this weekend, but the whole long sleeves with ruffles maxi dress thing she's been doing is pretty much the worst fashion choice she could make.  And if she's dressing that way for "comfort" then she could possibly drop the platforms.  She's rarely been able to appropriately dress for her age, size and stature, so I don't know why I'm surprised that she continues in that vein.

my conspiracy theory is that she's TRYING to look even bigger than she is so her post partum WW thing is that much more drastic looking.  ETA: oh, hai, missus.  get out of my tinfoil hat.

  • If I could get paid 3 mil to eat Ho-Hos, wear snakeskin dresses and keep my hair down, I'd do it in a HOT SECOND

    Oh hell yes.

If someone told me I had unlimited resources, including surgery, and I was going to get paid to lose my baby weight. I would be a hot mess with my eating. Bring it on!

  • She looks like she can't breathe!

No, not normal and not healthy

Pffft.  I'm doing the ho-hos and the hair down (whats wrong with hair down, btw??) and I'm not getting paid 3 million. Well okay not ho-hos, but doughnuts and ice cream.

But that dress....my eyes!!   And this is after perusing the maternity clothes yesterday at the mall and walking away thinking "omg maternity clothes are hideous."

  • I don't even remotely give a damn what she looks like, as I'm sure I'm not exactly attractive at the moment.

But she's naming the kid Maxwell? That's what we're naming our son. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that my son is going to have the same name as JS's spawn. Damnitt.
