Best place for a make-up Makeover?

When my baby is born I'm going for the full makeover!  Wondering where the best spot for a makeover is.  In the past, I've been a big CLinique/Estee Lauder gal so I would just hit Bloomingdales for a make-up counter makeover.

But I'm thinking of venturing out to Sephora or ulta as I would be exposed to different brands.  Suggestions?

TIA!

Re: Best place for a make-up Makeover?

  • I still like the Dept stores MA better, I know you kind of get restricted to one brand, though. I always feel very rushed in Sephora, and honestly I never like the personal  styles of the MA in Ulta. I am very shallow when it comes to hairstylist or make up artists, I need to like their style (something  about them, hair, make up, or outfit of all of it), otherwise most of the time I don't like the results!!!

  • From working at Sephora I know that you can schedule a make-up consultation where they are supposed to teach you to do your make-up, rather then MAC where they will do your make-up for a special event. It depends on what your looking for as well, Sephora has more variety and price-points. Clinque you'll only get to try their products. What about your local salon and spa? I have gotten my make-up done a MAC just to learn new techniques, but never a full makeover.

Thanks for the input.  What dept store brand do you like?
