Favorite Vegas Restaurants?
I know it's been asked a million times, but here it is again
I'm looking for one moderately priced dinner option (our big splurge will be dinner at Aureole). We are not picky eaters, but we don't really do typical steakhouse-type places.
I am also looking for one brunch option. (we've been to Mon Ami Gabi and we'd go there again, but I want to check out some other options too.)
Thanks!
Re: Favorite Vegas Restaurants?
I'm not really a big help on the dinner because all the places we went were not moderately priced, really. :-
For brunch we went to Mesa Grill and really enjoyed it.
hehe, I hear ya... last time we expected Mesa to be our moderately priced dinner and honestly we still managed to spend almost as much as we did at Aureole. I guess by "moderate" I just mean, like, not the $190 porterhouse I see on CUT's menu!
AHH I love Vegas
my sis, BIL, nephews and niece live there.
We love Canaletto in the Venetian. We are Italian, and Canaletto is the BEST.
We also like Serendipity 3 at Caesar's Palace (warning...it is not budget friendly and the portions are outrageously huge).
Mesa Grill is good, but not one of my favorites.
I just got back from 3 days in Vegas for the 1st time, loved it!
Our big dinner night out (which ended up being cheaper then we planned) was Todd English Olives in the Bellagio. Dinner came to ~130 including tip and 2 drinks (one martini and a drink on the rocks). We both had pasta entrees. We loved it! We sat right by the window so could watch the water show during dinner. The service was great and the food was amazing.
Another vote for Mesa Grill for brunch. Or Bouchon in the Venetian.
Delmonico is my favorite, BOA too, but they are both steakhouses. Zefferino at the Venetian (Italian) and Table No 9 (Emeril, I think that's the name - Palazzo) were both good. I had a great chocolate-less mole pork dish at Emeril's restaurant that I'd love to recreate. When we go next month I think we are going to try Tao at the Palazzo, and maybe B&B at the Venetian. The Burger Bar (between Mandalay Bay and Luxor in the shops) is good and we may go for lunch one day. Oh - the Mexican restaurant in the shops at the Venetian was good too - we sat right on the canal and enjoyed a pitcher of margaritas!!
Worst meal ever - Diego at the MGM. Stay away!

Rosemary's and Hash House a Go Go!
Dinner:
Favorite, hands down, Joe's in the Ceasar's shops. BEST crab cakes and great steaks. http://www.joes.net/las-vegas (NOT Joe's crab shack! lol)
Rio has a yummy seafood buffet with langostino (mini lobster tail), crab legs, and all your seafood favorites.
Yard House. Not unique to Vegas but we don't have them in Indy so we tend to go here every trip. We go to the off strip one out by Red Rocks hotel.
Breakfast:
I love Hash House a Go Go. There are many locations throughout town and you can get coupons for them on Restaurant.com too! HUGE portions. Not fancy, but definitely good eats.
Cheap Eats:
Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood. Awesome breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches. If you ever go near thanksgiving they have an amazing holiday sandwich with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, etc. I have been known to eat here twice in a day!
We also like First Food at the Venetian. We also had an awesome meal at Table 10. We ate at the bar and ordered off the Happy Hour menu. We went back another time and had dinner, but really the Happy Hour menu was way better.
I love love love the Earl! Even their ice cream sandwiches are delicious.
Brunch at Bouchon in the Venetian is awesome. It's owned by Thomas Keller (same guy who runs the French Laundry in Napa).
Our favorite dinner was at Bartolotta's in the Wynn, but I don't know if I would classify that as moderately priced. We did order off the tapas menu and got 4 shared plates so it was significantly cheaper than ordering the entrees.
Jose Andres has a restaurant in the new Cosmopolitan hotel/casino called Jaleo that's pretty good (also tapas style).
Are you planning on renting a car while you are here? If so, I would HIGHLY recommend heading off of the Las Vegas strip about 15 minutes to a restaurant called "Hash House A Go-Go." Absolutely fabulous food. Reasonable prices and huge portions! My husband and I have been there a number of times!

If you don't have transportation - I would suggest Burger Bar in Mandalay Bay. Really great food; fun atmosphere; and reasonably priced. You build your own burger.

Lastly, for brunch I would suggest Raffles Cafe also in Mandalay Bay. Really nice place, not expensive, and good food. Their eggs benedict is really good!!!
Good luck and enjoy your trip!
FYI - Rosemary's restaurant closed.
