clicky poll ~ what should I eat later?

The H is away for a game tonight and will eat with the students, so I am on my own for dinner and don't want to cook  (rainy day affecting my laziness).     I have extra money (thank you, refund check) and thinking about calling in a To Go order to pick up on the way home.

So, help!

Re: clicky poll ~ what should I eat later?

  • :::drools:::

I'm hungry and almost all of this sounds good to me today.

I voted for Italian because it's my favorite.  I love me some pasta.

  • Anything from Red Onion Cafe sounds amazing right now... I wish I lived closer to one!

    **big sad face***  Sad

Between this and my poll question about eating out for lunch, I feel bad now, I can't imagine having to go that long without having the option of paying for a meal out.    If I could trade places with you temporarily so you could go buffet-style on all my dinner options, I would.

Oh, yum!    I was thinking Chuy's cuz it's on my path but Red Onion isn't really that far out of the way.        Thanks for bringing it up, it has been a while since I have had their deliciousness.

  • I selected Italian because I can see it in my mind's eye. You watching "The Biggest Looser" with a plate full of fattening, starchy pasta in a true food coma. LOL!!!

Aw, I'm sorry!  Don't feel bad, Erin!  I just realized I did sound whiny in the poll, and I didn't mean to make you feel that way.  I don't want people to feel sorry for me because I'm very lucky compared to others who have life-threatening allergies.

And don't worry.  I can have most of those foods if I cook them at home.  I actually just had fetuccine alfredo last night and it was delish!  And I had yummy homemade vegetarian taco salad with Mexican rice a few nights ago.  Things have gradually gotten MUCH easier in the last few months.  I've been finding more and more I can eat and similar tasting substitutes.

  • KDuv, that's great!     You didn't sound whiney, I just had a twange of sadness that it had been so long since you were able to enjoy a lunch out.

I am glad to hear that you are finding awesome homemade versions of your favorite foods, that's the only way I could deal with a major food allergy without getting depressed.     I have been praying and praying that whatever it is that I have going on internally isn't going to be directly related to a food allergy, and that it was just bacterial related... I already know it would be a struggle to cut out something awesome like ice cream or chocolate.      So far the doctor doesn't seem to think it's a food issue, though, even though that's not necessarily been swept off the table.

Fett Alfredo is sounding very tempting now, as is a big ole Tex Mex plate which looks to be the favorite as of now.    Work day needs to hurry up, now, I'm starting to drool!

I voted gyro and hummus/pita because I had awesome greek food for lunch...

And then I read this and I got super sad that I didn't eat there again before I moved away! So good! I'm going to have to come visit you TX girls just so we can eat at all my favorite places. Lol.

  • Erin, I've been thinking of you a lot lately and what you've been going through with doctor visits, tests, etc.  It's an awful feeling to be sick and not know what's wrong.

I really hope you get some answers soon.  Have you heard anything else from your doc about what to do for the next step?
