Getting back on the bandwagon
Where do i start, i need to loose 50 lbs. and most of it by September of this year, How often should i work out in a home gym, treadmill, punching bags, bowflex ect...and what meals are best for fat burning any easy inexpensive recipe ideas?
Re: Getting back on the bandwagon
Not knowing the weight you're at now - losing 50lbs in less than a year is (to me) a slightly unrealistic & unhealthy goal. That's not to say, that you can't lose weight and look/feel great, lose inches and fit into smaller sizes - I'm just saying, try to not focus soley on the number on the scale because you may get discouraged or lose sight of the goal.
As for working out - every person's body is different. A lot of weight loss is trial and error. What works for me or for someone else on here, may not work for you.
As for meals, just stick to as basic and "clean" as you can. Now is the season to buy fresh. Stick to lean meats, fruit, nuts and veggies. Eat "green" with every meal because they will fill you up for few calories. Cut out as much processed and refined starches as you can. Again, that just seems to work best for me.
For your workouts - to lose weight, I find that I can only achieve this by working out 4-5x a week. Any less and I am just maintaining my weight. Find a niche - something you love doing for exercise, will be a lot easier to stick to. Group classes seem to discipline me best because there are other people in the class to compare to and I can't slack off when an instructor is present.

Join a calorie counting website like The Daily Plate or My Fitness Pal to start off. It'll ask for your current weight, your goals per week (lose 1 lb, lose 2 lbs) and what kind of activity you are doing. From there you can gauge what your calorie/fitness goals are. Those kinds of sites normally have 2 lbs per week as the maximum healthy amount of weight to lose.
As far as healthy eating, I eat clean about 95% of the time. I get all my recipes from cleaneatingmag.com or thegraciouspantry.com.
