Help me personalize tote bags please!!

For my daughters birthday she is going to have a princess party.  The main souvenir will be tote bags for each girl.  I already found cute pink canvas tote bags but need help personalizing them.  I would love to either have the girls names in rhinestones,  their first initial with a crown, or even an iron on. Everything that I find is really cute but expensive.  I would like to keep each personalization  less than $5.  Any ideas?  I will take any ideas or suggestions including tutorials, etsy seller, websites for wholesale rhinestones.  Whatever.  I am open to all suggestions.  Thank you.

  • You can get big packs of iron on letters at craft store or Walmart. They have vinyl looking letters and even glitter letters. Joann's and Hancock's carry glue on rhinestones. So you can bling them up. They iron letters packs are maybe $4? But there are multiple sheets with repeats of letters.

  • You could do freezer paper stencils with fabric paint. There are tons of tutorials out there but I found this one that looks like a good one:

You should be able to find freezer paper with the alumnium foil and plastic wrap at your grocery store.

  • I second the freezer paper! It's very easy esp if you have a die cutter of some sort.

I was nervous to try freezer paper stencils, but it's so easy and looks really professional.
