Lily has an infection!

She went to the vet Tuesday and they kept her all day but couldn't get a urine sample from her. Then I brought her home and locked her in the bathroom to try to get her to pee in an almost empty, tilted box there to catch some pee. Still no luck.  The next morning she peed on the carpet and I sucked it up in a syringe.

Results in today - some sort of infection. Poor girl. Still waiting for the culture results to know the full story, but they are starting her on antibiotics today. I had busy morning at work so I can't get to the vet until tonight. I feel guilty.

Obviously I also feel guilty that it could have been an infection all along. Maybe I should not have pushed my vet on the first visit?  Or I suppose maybe it started out behavioral and now the stress caused an infection to develop?

Either way, I hope this solves everything. I want her to feel better, and I also want to stop spending my free time sniffing for pee on my carpet. Oh, and fewer $25 gallons of Nature's Miracle would be nice too.

Re: Lily has an infection!

  • Oh, poor Lily!  I hope it clears up fast.  And don't beat yourself up - it would be so much easier if they could just tell us what's wrong :(
  • Poor Lily - she's had a rough few months! Hopefully this is the main cause of everything and Lily can get back on track!
  • Aww, Lily! :( Poor girl!!

I hope the antibiotics clear it right up and she's all better! (ie, no more peeing on the carpet!)
