Help me decide if this tile is okay! Clicky poll

So now that our cabinets are painted, I want to tile the backsplash.  I had picked out these tiles a while ago, but now I'm not sure if they work.  Help me!  Are they too green?  If you think they are, I'm up for suggestions.  H hates glass subway tiles, and I want to make it lighter in there.  We have dark granite, and the cabinets are Silver Marlin.

  • Are your cabinets white?  They look like a really like green or blue in the picture.  That will determine my answer.

They're Silver Marlin, from Benjamin Moore.  Kind of a greyish-green.  Or greenish-grey.  Depends on the light, really.

  • If the cabinets are grayish green, the green in the tile will make the cabinets look more green. Are you okay with that?
  • I really like it together!!
  • I said ss. I really like it all, but I don't see green in my pic so I'm guessing it's not true to color on my monitor.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Are you taking out the 4" granite backsplash? I asked the board recently about putting backsplash up and the advice was to take out the granite backsplash and start the tiling from the counter, not from above the granite backsplash.  It was an  either / or advice. If you are keeping the granite backsplash, don't tile at all. Leave the wall as is and paint whatever color you want.  Basically don't do two backsplashes: one of granite and another of tiles going up to the cabinets. Pick one or the other.

And I vote no on this tile. Keep looking.

I agree with this.  One or the other.

I'm a no on the marble.  I think a classic white subway tile would look a lot better and blend in better.  With cabinets that color and a dark granite like that I think the marble will look like it's competing for attention.  Not everything can be the star.

I would love to, but I'm not sure it's a good idea.  Flippers did our house, and they cheaped out on EVERYTHING.  They're the ones who put in the granite... I have the feeling that the granite edge is probably very poorly done where it hits the wall, because they figured it would never be seen.
