Poll: how often do you professional clean the following
Your furnace/ducts
Your carpets
Your dryer lint trap
Your windows
This is all come up because I have never had any of these professional cleaned and my upstairs neighbor is saying I should. We've rented a carpet clear from HD and cleaned the carpet ourselves several times, but Stanley Steamer of someone would probably be better. And we've never had the furnace or lint trap cleaned.
What are you guys doing?
Re: Poll: how often do you professional clean the following
Your furnace/ducts We would have the ducts cleaned when we purchase a new home. The furnace is serviced every year and the service guy blows/vacuums it out.
Your carpets 1x per year when we owned. We're in a rental now, though, so I've just been steam-cleaning it myself every 3-6 months. I'm just not dedicated enough to cheap rental carpet to pay to keep it clean.
Your dryer lint trap Never. DH does it with the vacuum cleaner.
Your windows Again, never. We can do it ourselves. In our case, our windows open to the inside for cleaning.
Planned Executed
Your furnace/ducts : it is maintenances 1-2 times per year
Your carpets: every 6 months - 12 months
Your dryer lint trap: the back is removed and professionally cleaned out 1 per year. Using a vacuum on lint trap is not enough. The back needs removed and inside completely cleaned as well as the ducts existing home.
Your windows: inside 2-3 times per year and out side 1-2 times per year
We own which makes a big difference in my opinion of what you do. The dryer is a big fire danger and I would do that. Carpet cleaning is more about the level of filth you want and how long you want the carpet looking nice. You're renting and do the furnace and ducts should be landlord taken care of
