PIP-Help me pick shingles/paint colours for exterior of house
Tomorrow we go and pick out shingles for the house we bought. I want to get rid of the yucky brown-red trim/brick/brown roof and move towards more gray/black/taupe colours. We'll eventually replace the aluminum siding with vinyl but for now we're planning on painting it.
Can you ladies help me pick colours for the following?
1. Shingles
2. Trim
3. Paint for aluminum siding (and has anyone ever done this before with pros/cons)
4. Brick on the front
5. Little porch on the front
Thanks!

Re: PIP-Help me pick shingles/paint colours for exterior of house
Hard to tell from the pic but I would say dark grey shingles, a taupe or griege for the siding and brick ( same color to unify it) and black shutters. I would paint the pillars white.
We had our vinyl siding painted in the fall but no experience with aluminum siding.
Cobgrats on your home!
It is hard to tell from the pic. With so much roof showing I would go with an architectural shingle.
We have 2 two story decks that were previously enclosed with aluminum siding. We painted them this past summer. Nothing really to it. We did a paint and primer in one. We just had to pressure wash with water, but if that doesn't cut it you can use biodegradable detergent or Trisodium phosphate. We brushed and rolled ours, since they were small. For a whole house I would buy a sprayer, renting is an option but the cost is pretty similar.
I'm a little perplexed why its "hard to tell from the pic" - I thought it was a pretty clear picture?
But thanks for the feedback
we chose architectural shingles in dark gray (the darkest available without going to black). I'll post an update when they get installed next Monday!
