Sep anxiety barking

Hey all,
We have had Henry for a week now and he is settling in well...except for some pretty intense separation anxiety. DH worked from home all week to work on crate training and this anxiety piece. He is getting better with the crate...sleeps in there willingly and we closed the door and went out to dinner last night no problem.
Today We put him in the crate with his usual kong and left...we got out the door and he FREAKED out. Non stop barking. ...and he doesn't bark at anything, ever. We live in a condo and this is not gonna fly. Suggestions? We have to go to work Monday!
Fwiw, we do have a dog walker who will be coming mid-day every day.

When my boxer had bad sep anxiety we had to medicate him
. He went crazy in his crate when I was gone busted out a few times and tore up the apt I was living in.. Drug things across the room that weren't in his reach tore up the carpet outside of his cage. It was very stressful for me and him. Finally recorded it one day and the dr finally agreed to medicate him.. He was on reconcile for like 2 years.. He's mostly fine now except when we moved to our house he had some issues for a while. But that was the only thing that calmed my guy down. GL!
