suggestions for walking shoes?

I'm trying to lose weight and just started walking. I have no good shoes to walk in which causes me to cut my exercise short because my ankles tighten up so bad (even after stretching). Anyone have any suggestions for any good supporting walking shoes?

Also, I need some clothes to workout in that aren't gonna break the bank! Thanks ladies!

For workout clothes, I like Old Navy and Target.  You really just need a good bra and some comfy pants....I wear old t-shirts or tank tops if I'm not sweating a ton.  Otherwise, a wicking tee is always nice.  For shoes, I'd get fitted at a local running store.  Just tell them you are a walker that way they will adjust the fit accordingly.

Yep, head to your local running store (not D*cks or Sports Authority or any other "mega store.) Google Your town + running store. They will fit you for walking shoes.

I have found that the Danskin Now pants at Walmart are great.  I started out in their capris and I picked up another pair today for $12.  Target and Old Navy are great options, too. I have lots from both, but it is a little more (around $20+).  I love the compression line that Old Navy has - it keeps everything from jiggling when I workout!
