What do you feed your dog (dry food)?

I am looking at the food site but there is so much to choose from, so I am looking to see what everyone feeds and research from there.

Re: What do you feed your dog (dry food)?

  • I feed my pup wellness just for puppy and I feed my adult dog totw I think the Sierra mountain one.. It's doesn't have any chicken product in it. My boy had bad belly issues and was starting to lick his paws excessively and was vomiting.. Ever since then he's been pretty good!
  • Both are on Wellness Super5Mix. Collins's little belly was MUCH happier after making the switch. I'm convinced Ziva could eat garbage all day and have a happy tummy.

  • All three of mine are on Chicken Soup adult. Dapper is having some itchy issues though so I'm trying to figure out if it's the food or not...
  • We feed Acana Pacifica  with 2 tbsp of a mixture (we mix up 1 can venision green tripe and 1 can ziwi peak vension)
  • We rotate through the different Taste of the Wild formulas. We've had pretty good success with them as far as digestion, weight maintenance, etc.
  • We were feeding Acana's grain free line of food. I loved it but we started to have issues with it being in stock at our pet store. According to the distributor, they can't keep up with production and were looking at opening another plant. Not sure if this is just a regional issue or not but we ended up switching since there was literally 1 small bag left on the shelf. We switched to Fromm. Right now we're using the grain free Game Bird. My guy loves it...he's been less itchy, has good digestion and a shiny coat. I'm happy with the switch.

  • We feed Canidae. Cooper has a sensitive stomach too so we have to be really careful what we give him. He does really well on any of the Canidaes (he likes the beef & ocean fish the best but the bag size is smaller & it costs more :( )

For some reason I felt the need to let him try a little something different, so I bought a couple little bags of different flavors of Fromm that I mix a little in w/a meal once a day. He lurves that stuff.

  • I feed them TOTW pacific stream and sierra mountain (the 2 versions without chicken). They are doing great on it (and have been on it for about a year). I'm trying to find another affordable option to rotate in, and I was considering Before Grain. With 2 big dogs, grain free, chicken free options are expensive.

  • We give our little one Wellness 5 Supermix for adults but in the small breed bite size bits. She loves it and we've been told she's super healthy.

    Lilypie - (VrMh)
  • Started out with Canidae, then moved to California Natural and now we feed Taste of the Wild (High Prairie).

My dogs do very well on TOTW. I'm thinking about rotating the formula soon.

  • We are Fromm feeders.

The little's (three chi's) currently get Fromm Pork and Applesauce formula and we rotate flavors from the 4 star line for them.

The boys (doxie and a greyhound) get a combo of Fromm gold and whatever 4 star we are feeding the little's.

  • we feed our Doberman and Great Dane, Nutro with out the by products and with out corn.  The Doberman has been on t for a year, and we just switched the dane off of her food and on to his, we are thinking of adding in taste of the wild along with it though.

  • We feed Taste of the Wild and rotate the proteins.  I'm such a dork, I do it alphabetically, too.  We are currently on whatever is 3rd alphabetically and next time will be whatever is 4th.

  • We feed California Natural Lamb and Rice. I hear the herring is also amazing, but I can't stand the smell of fish! Stick out tongue

  • We feed canidae grain free sea elements.  It is about 73 for a 30lb bag.  So far they are doing ok on it
