How much did it cost to ship your dogs?
We're possibly moving to AK, which is considered overseas, so I'm wondering how much should I expect to pay for ship the dogs. We'll be flying from Fl, possibly GA. They're both probably gonna be around 50lbs by then.
Does the military help in shipping them at all? Some company was looking like 1200 to ship them(SO expensive!) We'd like to drive and do a partial DITY, but with the weather it just doesn't seem safe.
Re: How much did it cost to ship your dogs?
The military will not pay to move your pets.
Try calling United and get them as checked baggage, that is going to be your cheapest route. If not United is good about how they charge with cargo.
When my dog flew back with us from Japan four years ago it cost $100 (on the Patriot Express) to Seattle, and then the flight to Chicago was about $500 -- so $600 total.
It means they are going to go under the plan where baggage goes, with you on the same plan. Each crate will be counted as a piece of luggage.
Cargo is where they are not on the same plan with you or to big to be counted as checked baggage.
Ooh, that makes sense. Thank you!
