Rosemary gone rogue... separating in to pots?

My potted rosemary plant is out of control.  I simply can't use it fast enough!  I'd love to share the wealth by splitting the roots and making smaller pots for a few friends.

Uhh, is that possible?  I don't want to kill my beast plant but I'd love to split it up in to smaller portions and give away.

Anyone broken apart herb roots and repotted with success?  Thoughts?

Re: Rosemary gone rogue... separating in to pots?

  • Rosemary is a woody stem, which I don't think is the best for separation. I've not tried it though, so I can't be certain. However, I am certain that you can cut it back severely and it will bounce right back. You could always infuse some olive oil with rosemary, or dry it and share that with friends instead! Good stuff.
