I beat Nina Garcia to finding a great accessory!
I found out about Laurel Parton Designs on Etsy through a Twitter picture that Ashley Monroe from The Pistol Annies posted thanking Angelena Presley for one of these cuffs. Laurel creates handmade fabric cuffs that are about three inches tall out of fabric scaps from vintage clothes and fabrics that she buys in LA and anywhere she can find something cool. She sews the fabric down using intricate patterns and the more they fray the cooler they look. I own the "Catch" cuff that's her current Etsy banner and two others including this one:
I know they are quite the statement pieces, but since my style tends to fall into what my friends describe as "rocker chic" I can easily wear these with most of my closet. These pieces really work for me. I really love these so much since I have a scar on my wrist resembling a cigar burn that they cover completely. I hate having to explain that the scar is a cooking accident and there's no way to get rid of it since it's bad.
I just looked at my FB feed and Laurel was announcing that she just sold a cuff to Nina Garcia. I guess I'm "in" since I found them about 2 months before her. Lol! Just thought I'd share since these truly look like art and pack easily because they are totally flat.
