After installing new door and window... after gutting to bare beams... after building new floor... after installing drywall, taping, mudding, sanding, painting... after installing crown moulding... we FINALLY have ONE cabinet. We have 12 little windows to install on these doors, after that we begin installing beadboard all around, then, we'll install the base cabinet and the massive cast iron sink, and finish with undercabinet lighting, and an antique reproduction ceiling fan / light fixture. Flooring will be 6x24" rustic porcelain plank.
We're going for a very rustic, farmhouse look here. This cabinet was actually an oak buffet hutch purchased from Unfinished Furniture. It is stained in "golden pecan" and "dark walnut" and finished in polyurethane. The base cabinet will be made from the buffet, but we will have to take it apart and rebuild it bigger and stronger to accomodate the heavy, 6' long sink.
