Can I freeze white rice?

I have way too much of it. Thanks.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Re: Can I freeze white rice?

  • I don't see why not.  I usually grab some other leftovers and turn mine into fried rice for a meal, then freeze the leftovers in individual portions for my kids, and that works just fine.
  • Yep! I've been doing this for a while now. Then when you want to eat for dinner just place it in the microwave with a little water, cover and defrost for a few minutes at 50% power. Then blast it on full power for a shorter time to steam and heat through.
Nutmeg, cilantro, sage, mint, thyme... these are a few of my favorite things! Visit The Nest!Visit The Nest! We have four children; one left us too soon.
  • We freeze white rice all the time. I throw it in a ziplock, and freeze it flat. Then, throw in microwave and heat on high (I dont' add anything) until piping hot.
