So, H and I are now having trouble with names. Middle name will be Jane regardless, but we're seriously stuck. We have another 16 weeks to decide, so it's not really a big deal right now. I want her to have a unique name in the sense that I don't want her to be one of 5 Isabellas/Olivias/etc in her class. Alexandra - my first choice, but I'm concerned it's too popular Ava - H's first choice, also too popular Cathryn or Catherine - can't decide which spelling Samantha H comes home every day with a different name, so we could add to these as well.

We, we like to party.
Re: Name my baby
Kathryn.
If you're invested in one of the 'C' versions, I'd go with Catherine. Cathryn always looks odd to me.
a) If you go with Catherine, I would spell it Catherine.
b) If you love a name, who cares if it's popular? You could end up naming your kid Hildegard, and next year, every other person could catch on to the Hildegard trend, and then your unique name is out the window.
c) Have you considered Metarzanyou? It's pretty unusual and goes really well with Jane as a middle name.

Catherine if you opt for that choice, the y with the C seems weird to the eye.
You could always name her Mary

Ladasha?
Yes. Let me guess.....you know someone who knows someone with that name? :-)
Agreed. Alexandra Jane is a very pretty name!
She could be Alex, Lexi, Zan (my sister's friend goes by that).
Alexandra gets my vote, obviously. I don't think it's in the top 100, actually. I remember being surprised when I looked it up.
I actually love all the names on your list, do you really can't go wrong.
Crap...I Mean Crafts
My friend works in a NICU and someone named there child this. They didnt think it would actually be pronounced that way until the parents corrected them.

I think you're mistaken -- your friend in the NICU knows of someone who named their baby Female. Or Placenta.

Angelina.
No?
I like all your options actually, so I am no help. I also like Lillian with Jane.
For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
Exactly. If you name her Metarzanyou, you can also nickname her Zan.
I know one person who goes by Zan. I think her name is Suzanne or Roxann or something. She's into larping or World of Warcraft or dave matthews or something pretty lame. And she sounds like a wonder twin.
Bethie, is that where you were going? Zan and Jayna?

Her name is Alexandra and she goes by Zan. Obviously if you say the whole name you'd say Alexandra Jane.
Zan Jane sounds stoopid, yes.
We may have to flip a coin. Or dice.
I called it first! Do I get a prize? I can haz cookie, yes?
I really like Alexandra and Samantha, they were both on my list. We're the opposite though, we have a first name but haven't settled on the middle name yet.
Too bad you don't need a boys name though. I heard a woman in the Carter's store yesterday call her son Punker. Although I guess she could've been saying Bunker, either way I was laniefacing my way around the store.
I don't know anyone named La-a, but there was some study done on the name "Abcde" and how it's an actual name. (fwiw, my prof. was the one that brought it up in my Life Span Development course)
I also like Alexandra, but I don't think it's crazy popular. If you go with Catherine/Cathryn, I also vote Catherine.
I like Samantha. I suggested that to my H before we knew we were having a boy, and then he walked around for the next three days saying Sa-Man-THUUUU in Tony Danza voice. I still like it though.
My H was adamant about not wanting a name in the top ten names. Eventually I had to look up the percentage of kids actually named the names we liked, to show him that even though something might be #8 on the list, it's still less than 1 in 100 kids. That helped him to get over his jenniphobia.

It's my opinion and I am not attacking her personally by calling her a failure.
