Split Level Open Concept

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some inspiration photos of split level open concept kitchen/dining room/living room. It's really hard to find photos of this style of house! To clarify what I mean - when you walk in the front door we have a split foyer (you can either go up or down). If you are looking up the stairs there is currently a wall separating the kitchen but it's open to the right (living room/dining room). We would like to take down the wall to make it more open but I can't picture what it will look like from the front door. That's where all of your help comes in :)

Re: Split Level Open Concept

  • I was just looking at open concepts at houzz.com.... type in "open concept".  have you tried that?
  • I have a friend with that type of house, and she wanted to do the same thing. But that wall you're talking about is load bearing. She had to leave the wall that faces the front door and open up the wall that is facing the dining room to a half wall. But they had to leave some of the other wall. I think anyway... that this is the same type of house you're referring to.
