Not that I ever really really left. I'm getting my sh*t together in my personal life...or at least making progress. Seeing a therapist, making some hard decisions, getting my ducks in a row...etc. I made the very difficult decision to bail on two big races a few weeks back and it turned out to be a great call. I'm in week 3 of training for the Covered Bridges half marathon in Vermont and it is clicking! My 6 miler on Saturday was possibly the best run I've had in over a year. It wasn't super duper fast, but it was very respectable and I think I could have easily pushed the pace a bit faster. My last mile was a good minute faster than the average pace. Today's 3.5 I was back at my old "comfortably hard" pace with no real problem. In the wind. Running hasn't truly felt this good in a very long time. I actually had tears in mile 4 of my long run this weekend.
I'm pouring my hearbreak into my running and it seems to be working.

I hate you very much
Nope. I won't be ready for that one. I'm focusing on Vermont. After that I'm going to drop the distance for a little while and focus on getting faster. Doing a bunch of 5k's etc. Haven't decided on what my plan is for the fall. I really want another crack at Newport. But we'll see.
Congrats again on Shamrock. You are so inspiring! Rock on!
Ah, OK. Half marathons ain't going anywhere. I think you will be more than ready for Newport! I am most likely coming back for that one, since it fits perfectly into my training plan for Marine Corps.
Thanks! Rock On to you too!

Hugs to you from Vermont!
Good for you for enjoying your runs and making the best out of a horrible situation. I have been running the route a few times for the covered bridge half and I am so excited! I did 9.5 miles this morning and I cannot wait until June! Hope to still get a chance to meet up with you at the race!

Agreed. Running has provided such a great outlet for me when I need it.
