shoes for work (help me shop)

I have about $600 and need to purchase a new "work shoe wardrobe."  I'm hoping to be able to buy four basic pairs for this amount (is this possible)? 

 Any tips?  I know a lot of folks talk about Cole Haan  Nike Air shoes - I think I'd like at least one pair of these if possible. I prefer flats and wedges to heels.  I work in a professional office and do travel quite a bit.

  I'm pretty fashion challenged!

The Cole Haan Nike Air shoes fit me terribly. I've had good luck with Ann Taylor's Perfect Pump (but definitely only get them with a discount code, they aren't worth the full price), Nine West, Calvin Klein, and Vince Camuto. I think you need at least one pair of pumps, even if it's a low heel.

I have the Cole Haan Air Talia pumps, and I love them. I can wear them for MUCH longer than any other pump. If you want to consider a pump, this is the low heeled version:

Clarks does have some nice, on-trend styles. It's not all grandma fashion.
