Adult dog, teeth injured

My 10 yr old lab got accidentally hit in the face today by a door (we think) and it knocked out at least two front teeth, broke one or two more & one looks all out of place.  I'm going to call the vet tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone has had experience with this?  We softened his food tonight & he doesn't appear to be in pain, but geez...my poor guy.  He's in otherwise great health but it just worries me that his teeth aren't intact when he's not super old yet.  I'm probably being silly, but it just makes me sad thinking of having to soften his food already!!

I know, he definitely does. We give him Rimadyl once a day with his dinner, so I'm hoping that is helping him by now.

  • Poor thing!  One of my dogs (age 4.5) broke 2 teeth (we think he chomped down on a Nylabone too hard, but it's unclear), and he showed no signs of pain at all.  We found them while brushing his teeth.  He had to have them both extracted and was on wet/softened food for about 1-2 weeks, but now he eats regular kibble just fine.  T&Ps for your guy!
