Advice please...

So it's 4 AM and I just woke up to my dog eating vomit (in the form of whole pieces of dog food) off the bedroom floor. They eat at 5 PM so I'm not quite sure how the food is still undigested and I'm not sure which dog it was because I was asleep when they threw up. This is the third time one of the dogs (not sure which) as done this since we switched to TOTW. Any thoughts? I'm thinking it may be the food but IDK why or what to switch to since I can't imagine what in the food is causing it. It's also not like we switched recently. It's been at least a month and a half. Do you think it's the food? Do you have a suggestion for a solution?

Re: Advice please...

  • Usually when my dog throws up whole pieces of food it's because she has eaten too quickly.  We use a toy in her bowl to slow down her eating and problem solved.
  • We have had the same problem with our female black retriever, she eats her food so quickly she doesn't chew it well so she ends up throwing it up. There are a couple things you can do, they make bowls for this, where there are section that the dog can eat out of, it's for them to eat slower, they have to finish this side first or eat over here then over here, Or we put 2 tennis balls in her bowl (because she has a large bowl, she's a big girl), I found that for her bowl 1 wasn't really doing the trick. But just that extra something so they have to move it around, it gives them more time to eat their food. It's work great for us. We also feed our dogs the Kirkland (CostCo) Brand of dog food, and that's also great for our dogs. Hope this helps!
