Paint color we don't like, but still in can
So, we bought paint without testing the color first. Needless to say, we painted a square foot of it on the wall and didn't like it. Its so light you can barely see it. We have 2 gallons of it. Do you think Sherwin Williams would add more color to it for us to make it darker? Or are we just out of luck and have to buy new paint?
Never again will we buy paint without testing it first!

Yep, they should be able to darken it for you. They can see the formula that was used originally, then subtract it from the darker color and add the additional tint. It shouldn't be a problem if you are staying with the same general color, just darker. They can tell you for sure though.
Also, did you paint your test sample on a white background or over your old paint color? If you painted your test sample over a dark paint color, it will seem whiter than when it's up in the whole room.
Great! Hopefully it won't be a problem. We're regulars at the sherwin williams in town since we just bought our house last summer. The test sample is painted on a white wall and I can barely see it. We like the general color, its a greenish blue, just wish it was 1-2 shades darker, especially since there is a chair rail in the room and we decided to paint below the rail white.
