I've been gone for quite a while due to some pretty spectacularly awful medical issues, though last week I was finally given a clean bill of health (hooray, no more hospital stays) and have been making the rounds to internet forums I was active on to let people know I'm alive, etc.
For peeps who have my number: my phone is water damaged so I'm not sure how much of stuff that's been sent to it can be recovered once I get my new one!
Also super, duper belated (and thus shank worthy on my part) congratulations to you HS on the birth of your son! I didn't get to see the picture but my H did!

Re: Hello...??
Hey!
You have a husband? When did this happen?
Your H?
And, hi.
A while ago, I think I shared in chat but not on the boards, lol

I'll go into chat here in a moment!
I married the guy I was dating, it was kind of spur of the moment, like he asked if I wanted to get married on a Friday and we got dressed up, went to the town hall and tied the knot on a Saturday and told our families after the fact (though apparently he told my dad before he wanted to marry me, so he wasn't as shocked as some of the other family). We're going to be doing a vow renewal this fall because both our families want to get a chance to "properly celebrate" but I haven't had a chance to plan pretty much anything for that. Married life has been really great (though the medical stuff has really sucked balls).
As far as medical stuff goes, it started with some really bad eye infections that saw me hospitalized (retinal infection from a deep scratch, that I'm pretty sure I got while bartending). While hospitalized for that, we found out I had a tumor on the back of my eyeball that had went unnoticed for a while and had to be removed (non-cancerous and relatively small, about twice the size of a pinhead), I had complications following that surgery with some more eye infections, and then while recovering in the hospital I came down with shingles and from there I got a really bad staph infection. So it basically dominoed like crazy and I was pretty sick and in pain and spent a lot of the last few months in the hospital. I'm picking back up classes this coming summer and I have to find a new job, but I'm not too worried about that.
And that's the short-ish version of where the hell I've been.

Very good! I really enjoyed it and I think I have a few potential internships lined up for a year or so from now. Thankfully my grades were high enough and my professors liked me enough that I didn't lose the money from having to drop the classes for the medical stuff and I just had a hold put on it. I'm going to start some tutoring in a few weeks to try to get back up to speed on what I was doing before all the eye problems started.
I'm also probably not going to bartend anymore, lol.

Is the IT job out, too? Bummer.
I'm so glad you're doing better.
A fight erupted between four girls and we only had one bouncer on duty, so I tried to help break it up while waiting for the bar back to get there and help. I got scratched across my eye and face for my effort and a few days after that was when I started having the problems with my eye.

Oh, this is actually a really juicy story.
My boss was caught by his wife cheating on her with, get this, hookers.
Honest to god prostitutes.
Like, 10k worth.
Like, their house was already underwater and they had four kids and her parents including her pill-addict mother lived with them.
Their whole life was a fustercluck of TIP (the last two kids were had when she lied about first being on BCP, then on having an IUD, the very last one they had when they were separated but trying to work it out because she cheated on him).
Well, his wife went completely off the deep end and began to bother me. He set up a webcam in our office so she could watch what went on "between" us during the day because she didn't trust me and by the time I gave my 2 weeks notice she had sent me a few crazy emails accusing me of having an emotional affair with him and that we were probably sleeping together, and I was plotting to steal her total catch of a husband.
Last I heard, they're still together. As much as I loved the job itself, I do not miss the job.

LOL. I think I remember the whole paranoid wife thing, but not the hookers and cheating stuff. Wow.
Wow, that is a lot to go through. I'm sorry that you had to deal with all of that, but I'm glad you're doing better now.
Holy shiit.
I'm glad you're feeling better. And belated mazel tov on your nuptuals!
OMG I can't believe your boss was cheating on his terrible wife with hookers! And here I thought he was a nice guy!
They're both dum dums. So glad I'm not a part of their f*ckery anymore, haha
