We didn't have a grooms side and a brides side, we just did one long party. The only people J cared to have int he wedding were his sisters (all 5 of them -in black) add my 2 sisters (in grey) and we had a lot of ladies. The Best man is our oldest nephew, and the other Male is a high school friend of mine. The flower girl and ring bearer are our niece (we were her guardians until she was 3 months old) and another nephew. Our wedding was a casual barbecue at my aunts home.

Yes, initially I wanted them all in grey, but we were short on time and DB said the ladies would have to order their dresses ASAP to get them in time (turned out not to be the case), and some couldn't afford much. So I told J's sisters they could wear any dress they wanted in black as long as it was knee length and summery, and my sisters the same but in grey. My sisters ended up going to DB anyway because they knew I liked the color there and the dresses. And J's all got the same dress, except for 1 sister who had just lost a lot of weight and was self conscious about her arms.
I like the variety of bridesmaids in different dresses. And I would prefer them all to be comfortable in what they are wearing as opposed to hating what I picked. I was in a wedding in a dress that made me look horrible and I felt so uncomfortable the whole time.

Yep, been there, done that. I picked a dress for my girls that I thought they could all wear again (and they have). Our colors were black and cream so it was pretty easy.
Figgs- were your dresses like a caramel color? They kind of look like what Rach had her girls wear. I like it!

I picked the cheapest dress at DB for my BMs to wear (I think it was just $100). My BMs wore the watermelon shade & my MOB (my sis) wore the petal pink shade. They all had a grey ribbon tied around their waists. I am wearing my "Frankengown" (I literally took apart 2 dresses and sewed together the parts I liked of each) and my niece is wearing a Carter's dress for her FG dress.
Dx: Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism After 2 years TTC & failed IUs,we have our IVF baby born 9/24/11

Same here. I'm still pretty pissed off at my photographer. I asked him 3 times if he got a shot of the candy buffet I worked hard on and nope, he never did. Not only that, no one else (family/friends) did either.
