Baked Oatmeal from Annie's Eats blog

Has anyone made this? Just curious as to why she has you add the dry ingredients in the pan first and then poor the mil mixture over it? I've made this a few times and it's delicious, only I sub coconut oil for the butter.

Can I just mix it all up in one bowl? I make this for H a couple times a month as an easy breakfast for the week.

Re: Baked Oatmeal from Annie's Eats blog

  • I've made it and I assume it's to distribute the milk as evenly as possible.

I just put the liquid (milk, maple syrup, etc.) in a large measuring cup so there is no dirtying of an extra bowl and it pours more easily.

  • I just dump it all in the dish that it's being baked in.

  • Because those were the instructions in the original recipe.  It isn't her original recipe, so don't blame her. ;)

I agree with MWC...I think it is easier to make sure that the ingredients are well mixed that way.
