Interesting - Zimmerman related

http://www.examiner.com/liberal-in-baltimore/killer-of-trayvon-martin-is-son-of-retired-orange-county-magistrate-judge

 Main Points :

Zimmerman's Father is a retired Supreme Court magistrate judge. His mother was a court clerk.

Lead homocide detective wanted to charge Zimmerman with manslaughter

State Attorney's office advised not to press charges. They claim there wasn't enough evidence. (you know, the guys who were on the scene)

Zimmerman has THREE closed arrests on record.According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence ? a  felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison.

Re: Interesting - Zimmerman related

  • Well, that's certainly interesting.

I'm not familiar with Florida's gun laws, and I know they are certainly more lax than MA, where I live, but with that record how was he legally able to carry a weapon?   Does a "closed" arrest mean it was dismissed?

  • I heard the thing about the State Attorney's office on CNN today. That's new info, right? If that's the case - that the police department wanted to arrest but the state told them not to, that's terrible, especially since then the state has really let the local p.d. take all the heat.

I am reading it be like a sealed record. As in a gun seller wouldn't see it if they ran his record - no.

The first time I heard about it was also yesterday. I don't think the local PD is innocent either.
