I'm trying to shrug off the guilt
DH likes board games but doesn't own many of his own so my sister bought him both Clue and Life for Christmas from Amazon. The box of clue was ridiculous torn on the back but it was shrinkwrapped. When it arrived my sister tried to deal with Amazon for a refund/exchange but obviously during Christmas season they are crazy busy and my sister didn't want to deal with the hassle.
I'm the type of person that understands stuff gets damaged/ruined but if it's brand-spankin' new, it better be in brand-spankin' new condition!
I tried to deal with Amazon about a month ago but they said it was too late/past the 90 day mark and blahblahblah.
DH took it to Target today and asked if he could exchange it. He did not say it was from Amazon. He got a new Clue.
I feel guilty, but at the same time... I'm happy we can finally play Clue!
Would you have done the same thing?
/end random post.
Re: I'm trying to shrug off the guilt
Please don't quote me on this, but I think that stores get compensated from the manufacturer that they are selling it for when stuff like that happens and target probably sent it back and got compensated, just like amazon would.
I have done similar exchanges with gifts that I didn't have a receipt for, I wouldn't feel guilty about it!
clue is fun!
While this seems like a good idea, I would feel even more guilty. I always feel bad donating damaged things. If you couldn't tell... I was born and raised Catholic. DARN YOU GUILT!
Just the box was messed up, right?
I can see how donating fun would be guilty.
I love board games! We have a board game shelf with no less than 50 games.
However, I have never played Clue.
But I wouldn't feel too guilty about the game. It's not like you stole 500 gallons of Tide and sold it on the black market. Which is a thing!! So random.
Lol, yes. You're right.
DANG!
Same here Panda, our closet is full!
