S/O broc - saw Hunger Games last night without reading the books.
I know, damn me to hell.
Maybe it was my mood, but the movie seemed so depressing and sad to me - not entertain-y. I left in a worse mood than when I went in. lol.
However, the story was really interesting, and since I haven't read any spoilers, the ending was a surprise. Poor Rue. And I'm assuming the dude with the awesome facial hair is forced to hari-kari on the berries? (har har)
Look with your special eyes.

Yes, President Snow is not pleased with Seneca Crane, or his amazing beard.
And the books are equally if not more depressing. It's dystopia, man! There are three more movies coming, apparently the last book is being split into 2 movies.
Are you serious???
You went to a movie about dystopia where the whole premise is kids having to fight to the death to feed their fooking families...
...and you're whining about it being depressing and not entertaining?!
I can't even wrap my head around this. You're on imoan's sh|tlist.

lol!
I'm not whining - the majority of my reading list right now is dystopian/post-apocalyptic lit.
This series just wasn't something on my pop culture radar - I knew the general premise, but that's it. Call me an old lady.
I guess I'm surprised that it's labeled as YA, more than anything.
If you want entertainment and fun... go to a showing of The Muppets!
BLECH!

Oh no you di-in't!
You know I love The Muppets. I'm not blech-ing The Muppets. I'm blech-ing going to a movie about kids killing kids and entire districts worth of people starving and thinking "why is this depressing and why isn't it entertaining?!"
SHUNNED!
