I think this is sort of an original idea...making play cupcakes out of tiny antique tart tins, using the cathedral window pattern. I just love how they came out! I started them before my sewing machine broke. Finally after getting my machine back 2 1/2 weeks later, I was able to finish them.

Re: Play Cupcakes (PIP)
I agree.
I have some antique tart tins, but the edges are too sharp to let kids play with them. I think it would be just as cute and more kid friendly if it was made with silicone cupcake liners.
Thank you ladies for the compliments!
I got the idea from heart shaped cookie cutter pincushions from County Living. It thought they'd make good cupcakes too.
The silicon cupcake liners would be cute too! I didn't have any of those and I'm trying my hardest to use stuff I have rather than buying new. I did have the tart tins...and I don't make tiny tarts...so this seemed like a good way to use them. The good news with these is they aren't too sharp for my little guy to play with. He's having oodles of fun with them.
