TrueGreen or Scott's?

We have TrueGreen.  I guess they are okay.  But, Scotts keeps tempting me.  Have any of you tried both?

Re: TrueGreen or Scott's?

  • We used TruGreen for years and ended up cancelling a few years ago when DH switched jobs.

Totally regret that! Our lawn looked awesome and now it looks like crap. It's much harder to upkeep on our own than we thought (and i'm VERY into every aspect of our landscaping and don't find anything else that difficult or challenging). Not only that, but we had the 7 applications done for about what it cost to do 4 application of Scotts Turfbuilder products ourselves, so I think it is very cost effective in our case.

When we move we'll probably start TruGreen again.

  • I'm not a big fan of applying chemicals to the lawn.  Do either of these companies have a "natural" or organic option?

If so, that would be the company I'd go with.  If not, I'd look into other options.

  • I'd love to not apply chemicals to my lawn.  However, I don't think we would ever get a lawn started.  Sorry, I need some help.  We are a new build, and we just need a 'start'.  I would love to go 'green' after we have grass, though.  I try to be green, a lot, but I have my faults.  Btw, I meant Scott's professional.  They provide a service just as Trugreen does.

    Turf is your friend.

I did some checking online and TruGreen does have a natural/organic option.  I'd go with them.
