Cabinet cleaning question

My new kitchen cabinets were installed today (yay!) and they're a bit dirty from install. They're wood painted cabinets in white. I realized I don't know what's safe to use on them, I don't want to risk damaging the finish. Any recs? TIA!

On an unrelated note, I am so.sick of not having a kitchen! I can't wait for it to be finished. Takeout food and washing my dishes in the bathroom is getting really old.

Re: Cabinet cleaning question

  • You want to use a soft, damp cloth (think micorfiber, NOT a paper towel), and mild, non-detergent soap (100 parts water, 1 part liquid dish soap). Dry immediatly. Do not use abrasive soap pads, abrasive cleaners, steel wool, bottled spray cleaners, solvent based cleaners, or cleaners containing bleach. Wax or polish is not recommended. Since excessive moisture can damage wood, do not spray cleaner directly on the cabinet or allow moisture to seep into the seams or joints.

Good luck and congrats on the new kitchen!
