Combination skin- Do you set with powder or just use blotting paper??

I have combination skin, and my t-zone gets especially oily during the warmer months. I have discovered Murad's oil-mattifying moisturizer (thanks to Nesties on here). I have tried numerous TM and all of them have left me feeling oily despite being oil-free.

After using the Murad moisturizer on my t-zone, would it help to set it with powder? I always feel like this makes me more oily quicker, but maybe I am just not using the right powder?  Or, would blotting papers be the best thing for me mid-day when I feel shine?

  • I do a combo...

    Murad lotion

    Bare Minerals matte foundation

set with BM mineral veil, in the compact

    MID DAY

    Blot if necessary

more mineral veil to reduce shine

Then I am good for the rest of the day...say 1pm to bedtime

Thanks Carrots- I was hoping you would respond. So adding that mineral veil doesn't make you feel shinier?

  • No, it keeps keep it at bay. You know what helps a little more? if I do two layers of the murad...let it dry, then do another layer, then MU.

I love the finish of the MV...it gives me a very flawless look. MUFE HD powder is good too, it just doesn't come in a compact

  • I really need to get the Murad before it gets much warmer here in GA.  I've been  holding off because of the price, but it sounds like it will be worth it when it's hot out because my t-zone is usually an oil slick.
