Bumpie looking for some advice on our dog

Basically, our dog has started peeing EVERYWHERE. I have no idea what to do. It's only at night, never ever during the day or when we're gone.
We took him to the vet - no infection, he's not sick, so they were no help. (And they had no suggestions, WTF, you're the VET).We've started keeping everything off the floor at night - kitchen chairs, toys, shoes, ect. He still pees on the corner of the walls, the couch, fridge, whatever. I bought some spray at the pet store that's supposed to prevent them from wanting to pee. He peed everywhere I sprayed it.
We don't use a crate (I'm a softie, he whines). He normally sleeps on the floor by my side of the bed on a little dog bed. The last two nights, I had no idea what to do, but I am so over cleaning the pee.
Is moving to a crate our only option? Do you think I could leesh him to the bed so he can wander but not go to the places he'll pee at? I don't know, but HELP! Please
The last person to go to bed always lets him out (between 10-11pm or later if I'm working), then when one of us gets up to check DS monitor, we let him out again (3-4am), and we're up for the day at 7:30am. He won't pee when we go someplace and leave him for 8-9 hours during the day.
*Based on the replies from the original post, I am going to go out and get a crate. We're also going to start taking an extra walk, just him and I, starting at lunch today.

What type of dog? How old? How long have you had him? What testing did the vet do? Is he marking or full out peeing?
Our dog is a breed known for being difficult to potty train, wasn't neutered until he was 2 (when we adopted him) and according to the vet has an unusually small bladder. So we've had chronic issues with him marking. I would definitely recommend crating but also bell training, that way he will ring to go out. I'd make sure he gets enough exercise during the day (my dog sleeps better when he exercises and then isn't up at night wandering and being tempted to pee). I'd also maybe get a DAP collar in case this is being caused by anxiety (that helped us A LOT). Belly bands can also work to retrain, we bought ours on etsy and its made of nice, soft flannel. You could also restrict his access to water at night. Pick it up two hours before you go to bed and put it back down in the am.
I will Google/look into all of your other suggestions. Especially the DAP collar, I've always wonder if he had anxiety issues since he was just abandoned as a little guy

I'm a huge fan of crate training, even if you eventually don't crate your dog (when s/he earns that freedom). If you're going to crate, make sure you properly introduce the dog to the crate - there's some info on crate training in the FAQs in the green banner at the top of the main Pets board. Basically, you gradually acclimate him to the crate and work up to closing the door and leaving him in there for longer and longer periods of time. Other things that can help get him to like (or at least tolerate) the crate are covering it with a towel/blanket to make it more den-like and giving him a super-special treat that he only gets when he's in the crate. I also used to hide treats in my dogs' crates when they weren't there so they could find them later ("crate fairy") - worked wonders with my un-crate-trained 4-year-old rescue. He barked/cried for the first 4-5 nights, but then he settled in.
It's really important to be consistent and not let him out of the crate when he's barking, whining, crying, etc. because that teaches him that those actions get him out. He needs to learn that being calm and quiet in the crate get him rewards and that barking/crying get him nothing (ignore him completely when he does those things). You may need ear plugs for a few nights.
Also, clean up all accidents with an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle - it will actually break down the pee and prevent the dog from being able to smell it. A lot of other products really don't do that (and thus don't work as I think you've found out!).
I agree; I called the vet again and asked them to run the urine culture again. DH is going to take him up there this afternoon.
