He fell from a second story window.
ETA: My daughter was in the ambulance with grandson. Just re reading
this and realized that she didn't seem to be anywhere...I guess because I
haven't spoken to her yet. She was downstairs with younger grandson when it happened.
All I know, since I got information from DH who got it from my son in law who was asleep (works overnight) when it happened, is that grandson went upstairs to change clothes and the next thing anyone heard was screaming/crying, and he was outside. I guess my son in law said something about grandson's arm, but poor guy was rudely awakened and was just trying to let us know and get to the hospital himself, so he wasn't the best source of information.
They live a couple of hours away from here, so DH told me to stay at home, and he left work (two hours away from here in a much nearer direction than me), and he is on his way there now.
I wish someone would call.
TIA for any prayers, good thoughts.

Oh No!!! I hope a broken arm is all he suffers! My thoughts are with him and your family
And strange coincidence, a coworkers daughter jumped out her 2nd story bedroom last week but I just heard about it a few hours ago. She suffered a major foot/ankle fracture but thankfully that was it.
He's six.
Yeah, Friday rush hour to/through Los Angeles is not exactly rush hour. DH is almost there now, so hopefully we will know something soon. I have seen what the traffic coming from my direction is like at this time of day, and it isn't pretty.
Juno, I am hoping that the screaming and crying was a good sign...I keep telling myself that it has to be.
He is very bright and extremely logical, so the story behind this whole thing should be interesting. And frightening.
Oh no! Keeping him in my thoughts and prayers! It does seem like a good sign that he was conscious after landing. I hope he has a speedy recovery, and that he's not in too much pain. Hopefully you get news from them soon.
(and this may seem creepy, but I always think of you and your daughter who went to the same school I did. I have my 10 year reunion this year!)

How scary! I hope everything is ok - and that he is safe and sound.
It's alarming how often this happens, as a matter of fact. We see many (many!) cases of children falling out of windows every year, and sometimes the outcomes are much more severe than a broken arm or leg. I'd be a bad nurse if I didn't give a reminder plea to put child locks on all windows and balconies on 2nd stories and above.
Again, I hope your sweet boy is ok, prayers are with you!
