Best things at Costco?

I know this has been asked before, sorry.

I'm planning a huge grocery shop - our grocery shops are usually pretty large as I have up to 8 kiddos to feed in a day aside from our own family. We are out of everything, so I'm making the trek to Costco tomorrow.

I always get the basics there as I need to buy in bulk, but I don't very often try anything "new"....I know they have lots of cool spreads, dips, frozen meals, etc that I never try.

Anything I need to try? Last time we went I got the greek yogurt dip that is spicy..it is so yummy with veggies!

  • I don't usually buy overly packaged stuff, but we always get the Sabra hummus in serving size packages.  It is convenient, lasts longer than if I bought a big package, and I can recycle the packaging.

It seems like they may have local stuff that isn't in all the stores.  Our Costco has wonderful frozen samosas with mint chutney, if you like Indian food.  Most of the other stuff I get there is basics.  If I'm feeling particularly naughty, the big box of European chocolate cookies is tasty.

  • They have a bruschetta mix that is the bomb!  It's pretty much the only reason I ever go to Costco.

  • I don't think all stores carry these, but I highly recommend the Tortillaland uncooked flour tortillas.

One of our must-haves, too. They are perfect for our 2 year old who loves hummus, but can't eat one of those big tubs on his own before they expire.

We also get coffee beans, English muffins, Greek yogurt, Laughing Cow cheese, baby wipes and replacement toothbrush heads.

  • I looooove costco!

A few of our favorites are:

go go squeeze applesauce ($7.00 and change for 16)

    Bananas (.46 a pound)

When they are in season, strawberries, blueberries etc are cheap

Sweet Potatoes are like 7 bucks for a 10 pound box, great deal!

    Greek Yoghurt

Rosemary roasted lamb shanks, not cheap, but really tasty

Korean Street Tacos, can be frozen come 12 tortillas, meat and cheese to a package

The criossants are decent, not like paris or even close but good for store bought

We also buy the kirkland brand chicken stock, and again its a great deal on what is a staple in our pantry

  • I like the chicken tamales, chicken salad made with rotisserie chicken, shrimp with some sort of citrus-y dressing (the shrimp are cooked but cold), uncooked frozen tortillas, chicken breasts in packets that are the perfect size to freeze, croissants, and they have great cheese.
