What everyone baking and cooking this weekend?

Since we have all been sick for over a week, I'm thinking about making a pot of chicken soup for lunch today.

Sunday I'll make a meatloaf, and mashed potatoes for dinner.

Baking wise, who knows I do have to make a batch of blueberry muffins for next weeks breakfast, and maybe 'll bake a English muffin bread, since it's been a while since i baked my last one.

What about everyone else, what's on your cooking/baking agenda?

Re: What everyone baking and cooking this weekend?

  • The highlight is getting the smoker going for brisket tomorrow.  Otherwise, burgers tonight.  We're mostly doing yardwork and stuff this weekend, so not much baking time.

  • I have a list as long as my arm of things that I would like to cook and bake this weekend, but I'm supposed to be taking it pretty easy until my due date (May 4) so not sure if I will actually get to any of it :(

  • baking- sugar cookies for Easter in bunny, chick and egg shapes with frosting.  Then freezing till next weekend.

    cooking- not really sure... baking is so much more fun sometimes :)

  • I just put an apple pie in the oven.  My SiL and B had a baby boy on Wednesday, so we are bringing mac & cheese and apple pie to them for dinner.   Tomorrow, I am making homemade minestrone.
  • Just baked my hubby a heart shaped chocolate chip cookie and tonight is Date Night.  We're making homemade mushroom raviolis!  Tomorrow I'm making cappuccino cupcakes!!

  • The kid's first birthday party is tomorrow, so I've had all sorts of stuff going:

    * Pasta salad

    * Poppy lime fruit salad

    * Chicken and pork BBQ (got chicken stock out of cooking my whole chicken, too)

    * Coleslaw (I'm only making the dressing on this one; I bought the bagged mix)

    * And the hopeful center of attention: a strawberry limeade cake.  It's my first try baking from scratch, so I'm hoping it turns out well.  It's in the freezer awaiting frosting and decorating tomorrow morning.

    When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?
