Anyone paint their laminate counter tops?

I'm looking to replace/paint my laminate bathroom counter tops. They are 48 inx22 and I have 4 to do... Looked at the rustoluem kit it's $250 and reviews are mixed. A new counter top would be about $160 a piece. I also saw laminate counter top paint $20 and curious if it's a viable option till we can replace them with what we really want. These are all half /guest baths so I want them to be nice but not break the bank

  • i've seen several on here use that or a similar system and have good end results. i would consider doing it myself if we had laminate countertops we wanted to replace, but couldn't afford to do it.

  • I used the $20 can in the kitchen in my old place. The trick is to not try to reroll and create marks. It won't be be perfect in the first roll. Also it does take like 72 hours to seal and make sure not to sit anything on it. Otherwise I really liked the product for $20 and made a big change in the counter. I did a dark gray color for ours.

I used the $20 stuff too (in our basement wet bar - it was VERY 70's!). It worked great, but there are some areas where you can see the roller marks. We wanted a quick, inexpensive fix until we figure out exactly what we want to do with the space and this was perfect. We also went with a dark grey color.

  • I used the Giani paint kit on our laminate counters and it's held up very well.  I think it was around $70 for the kit but it would probably cover all 4 of your counters.
