Daybed in office/guest room?

Has anyone used a daybed for guests?  I would love one for our spare room, which is primarily an office, but would like it to have a pop-up trundle to make it a king bed since my parents often visit together.  My issue is that I do not want it to feel rickety when put together as one large bed.  Anyone do this in their guest room?  What are your thoughts, or other space-saving ideas?  Anyone done a DIY daybed?

I have a daybed in the office and we often open it for guests.  It's a tiny bit rickety but just fine for an occasional guest.  I love it.

We had one in our old apartment. It was mostly either DHs mom or my mom spraying with us. They were thankful to be off the ground to sleep so they loved it.

We had a popup trundle and it was rickety and finally didn't even work right.

After my sister and I moved out my mom put a daybed in our old bedroom with a trundle.  I sleep well when I am there, and DH and I have both stayed there and been comfortable.

We have the IKEA hemnes daybed with the pull out trundle and it's great. The mattresses are thin foam, but we added a feather bed and it's better than the avera Fe hide a bed. Just be careful not to pull out the trundle too far or it's a pain to get back in.
