Help! Seasoning a Turkey

So next Saturday DH and I are having our parents over and I am making a Turkey.  My question is, does anyone have any good ideas on how to season the turkey and any ideas on how to keep it moist?

  • How to Cook a Turkey

This is by far the best Turkey recipe that I have come across and is my go to for every Thanksgiving!

    Maple-Roasted Turkey with Sage Butter

  • I saw this on a cooking sow before and it does keep it moist...You season butter and put it under the skin of the turkey and then season the outside with the same stuff..(I prefer the basics, seasoned salt, garlic, pepper and herb seasoning, you can get more fancy if you like) My SIL made a turkey on the girl with just water in the bottom of the roaster....it was super moist and really good too. The 1 thing I learned from last time I made a turkey is to make sure you don't let the turkey cool too long in the oven because THAT dries it out...GL!
  • Brining it will definitely help keep it moist.  If you do brine it, it will cook a little quicker so keep that in mind.  Good Luck!
