Easter plans?

With Easter being less than a week away, what do you all have planned?

Do you get an Easter basket?  Hunt eggs?  Are you hosting the holiday?

Re: Easter plans?

  • This year Were going to a surprise birthday party for a friend.

but on a normal Easter Sunday we would have had both sides of the In-laws over and do a cook out. Kinda of sad we can't get everyone together this year I keep asking if our friends' husband knows it's Easter Sunday lol

  • We're hosting Easter this year for both of our families.  It'll be the first family holiday that we've ever hosted so I am both super excited and nervous.  Our families don't really mingle, not because they don't like each other, but they just live an hour apart and really see no need to have friendships, so it'll be interesting to see them interact.  The only other time they've all been together was our wedding (minus his Mom and sister-in-law coming to my bridal shower and little things like that).

There will be 21 people including Jason and myself, so it's going to be crowded but still should be fun.  We're doing an 'open house' from 12pm-6pm in hopes that people come at different times but I'm sure everyone will show up at once lol.  Wish us luck!

lol what a random day to throw a party.  I wonder if he just didn't realize it was Easter before he started planning it or maybe just doesn't care?

We're hosting Easter again this year, with both our families. I'm hoping it's nice this year. I'm excited more for setting up an egg hunt for my niece (who's about 2.5). Her little sister is only 6 months so she wont be hunting eggs, but I'm sure she'll be looking adorable.

  • Good luck Xan!

We're hosting Chris' parents, who live about 2.5 hrs away.  He and his Dad are also going to work on the guest bathroom (new countertop, sink, faucet, mirror, and light), so I'm super-excited to get that finished!

  • No plans for Easter. I am taking a sailing class/certification all day both days this weekend. I have the evenings free. 2 years ago today DH proposed. It was Easter Sunday and he put the ring in a box with a 2 lb chocolate bunny. I helped bring in groceries last night and he bought something for Easter. I think it is a chocolate bunny. On our 1 year engagement anniv we melted the 2 lb bunny and had chocolate fondue. So maybe fondue is on the menu this weekend.
