PBK Easter baskets and liners

I'm a sucker for these and want to invest now that we are done having kids.  Do I have to spring for the baskets or can I buy the baskets somewhere cheaper?  Will the liners fit as nice if i do that?  That's important to me .

Re: PBK Easter baskets and liners

  • This topic comes up a lot on MM.  The consensus is that you can buy the baskets elsewhere and they will work just as good.   I opted to buy them through PBK.  I am very happy with my purchase.  The basket and liner should last a lifetime and I won't shell out money each year trying to buy a new cute basket just for the year.  I am a cheapo and I still think this purchase was one of my best.  I sit the basket on my LO's dresser and it's adorable year round to put things in there.

Keep in mind the PBK small basket/liner is large!  If you buy the large one it is very very oversized.  The pics are a little deceiving.  I would never buy the large one.  It's not as functional it's so big, unless you plan to put huge toys in it.

  • I have the smaller basket. This is only our second year using it, but since it ended up getting mixed up with some stuff in our packed-to-the-gills closet, it still looks perfect. I didn't bother with the liners in another basket approach because I wanted a sturdy basket the didn't have the random sharp basket pieces that some cheaper ones can have. IMO, it was worth it.

As PP said, the small one is pretty big (bigger than it looks on the web site) and I think more manageable for a little kid to carry.

  • Thanks for the info I definitely was going to order the large, now I won't.

Hereonceagain - I know it's come up on MM but I don't know if the majority are sacrificing quality, the fit or look of the baskets to save some bucks :) d&r wouldn't if it didn't look good or have good quality.

This made me LOL, and brought back memories....one in particular.

One year DH and I made wooden bunny baskets for our girls and the nieces and nephew that we were going to spend Easter with.  My eldest was also the oldest of the bunch, and the youngest was only around two.

The parents of the youngest one filled her Easter Basket with videos, toys, coloring books, regular book, candy....you name it.  It was crazy full.  On Easter morning, the kids all went outside to search for their baskets, with parents videotaping the search.  We had a tough time holding back the laughter when the little whined "It's too heavy....I need help!!!"

Honestly, I felt like they were sacraficing quality even though they said they weren't LOL!  My LO has thrown her basket around and has abused it for over a year and it's in perfect condition and I can tell it will last forever.  I looked at the ones at Michael's and Joann's and they don't look like they compare.  Plus, I wanted to make sure the liner fits correctly.
