Re: How is this worth $6,000??

  • LOL. There's enough sawhorses and plywood sheets in H's shop right now for six tables worth. I wouldn't have to work for a whole year! ;)
  • Because, you know, each piece was lovingly selected from a pile of lumber that came from deep in the forests of some third world country that we care a lot about, and all that love is expensive.

    LOL!!

  • All of Anthro's stuff is ridiculously overpriced IMO.

And an artisan who only works on one table at a time only when the moon is aligned in the right direction carves it lovingly by hand.  Love don't come cheap.

And I heard the artisan is 85 years old and nearly blind!

And then once you get it home, everyone thinks you bought it at IKEA for $100.

Even if I had to buy tools to make it, I'd still come in way under $6k. Crazy.

quick priced a planer, jointer, and table saw - $1400 for all 3 machines

You could probably fly to Bosnia-Herzegovina to get the wood for less than $6k too.

    All that stupidity is expensive.

  • It's definitely overpriced, but if you click on the link and zoom in to view the details of the table, I can at least see where some craftsmanship came into play. Not saying it's worth $6K, but it is a bit more special than just your average sawhorse.

I still don't say that's much craftsmanship or at least worth $6k. with the right tools, bam.

I like a pp's suggestion - for $6k you could go to Bosnia yourself LOL!
